Meet Dr. Thompson

I’m excited to be a dentist at this time in my life. There are so many new things to learn, new technologies to explore, and wonderful people to meet. I have been blessed with the gifts to be able to work well with my hands, be creative, fun, and personable. I put these skills to use daily to put my patients at ease and in return have earned their trust and respect. It’s a welcomed challenge to do what I do because the reward of seeing someone smile again, or offer a warm hug after I’ve taken care of them, is priceless.   

I have the privilege of meeting and interacting with a group of hard-working individuals who are dedicated to their families and their community. They consistently help each other and support their causes. I enjoy running into patients at the local stores or school events, and being able to stop and take a minute to chat. I love being a part of this amazing community and helping the people in it to thrive.

Education and Continuing Education

I have been mentored by some of the best human beings and clinical dentists around, and I am grateful that those individuals see that I am worthy of their knowledge. My formal education includes the following:

• Associate’s Degree in Dental Laboratory Technology – Indiana University
• Bachelor of Science in General Sciences – Case Western Reserve University
• Doctorate of Dental Surgery – Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry
• Master of Science in Forensic Sciences – University of Florida

I have always felt if there is technology or procedures that are going to allow my patients to feel comfortable and benefit with longer lasting care, then it is my responsibility to invest in and provide it. The continuing education I participate in focuses on areas of dentistry that are advancing, training to utilize new technology, dental implants, sleep apnea, and digital dentistry. In addition to CE, I am also involved in numerous professional organizations which provide me with learning and advancement opportunities.

Outside the Office

A native of Cambridge City, IN, I have lived in Pemberville for the past ten years. My wife, Asha, and I have five children, all sons, ranging in age from seven to 15. My family and my work are the two most important things to me; I couldn’t function without either! My free time is most often spent doing outdoor activities with my family like skiing and riding four-wheelers, though I can also be found cheering on Indiana basketball and Michigan football.

I’m involved in the support of various school and athletic activities in the community, as well as local fundraisers and businesses. I am also currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Air Force Air National Guard Reserves after serving for six years of active duty in the US Navy Dental Corps.
